Let's quit making excuses for the Men's U-23 national team. They are just bad. The future does not look bright for United States soccer if they continue to play with a blatant lack of intensity.
A couple notes after watching all three group stage games:
- Brek Shea is way overrated. He is fast, but he loses the ball way too much. He tend to just put his head down and run with the ball... not good.
- Our center mids blow. Mix Diskerud plays like a 6 year old girl.. playing kickball on the international stage gets you nowhere.
- Freddy Adu showed a lot of potential. He seemed to be the only U.S player with his head on straight. I was actually impressed with his play.
- Anyone who tells you the Olympics don't matter is lying.
Overall it was a pathetic showing for U.S Soccer. I'm interested to see what the 2014 roster will look like.
