ATS Picks: Day 46

2-0 last time to go 181-153 (.542) for the year, 23-20 on locks.

Since not including a picture of the day seemed to work last time, I guess we'll try it out again and see what hapens.

Phoenix (+7) vs Washington (-7):

Indiana (-5) vs Philadelphia (+5):

Charlotte (+15.5) vs Boston (-15.5):

Cleveland (+15) vs San Antonio (-15):

Detroit (+10.5) vs Portland (-10.5):

Memphis (+2) vs Utah (-2):

Thursday, March 14, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 45

The onslaught conitnues, as I went 4-7 last night for a cummulative record of 179-153 (.539), 22-20 on locks.  Also no one is getting the picture of the day today because I've been so bad lately.

Only two games on tonight.

Dallas (+9.5) vs San Antonio (-9.5): Hopefully the San Antonio that got mopped by Portland shows up tonight, cause I'm going with Dallas.

NYK (+6) vs Portland (-6):  The Knicks have been atrocious lately, and Melo says there is no stability in his knee.  Sweet.

Lock of the night goes to Portland (-6).

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 44

I am really getting punished lately.  Another tough night last night, going 3-5 for a cummulative record of 175-146 (.545), 22-19 on locks.

And I guess Ricky Rubio can have the picture of the day, because this is pretty cool.  Big shout to Ricky Rubio.

Milwaukee (-1) vs Washington (+1): Milwaukee is a playoff team. The Wizards are not.

Miami (-8.5) vs Philadelphia (+8.5): Sooner or later Miami is gonna have an off game.  I figure if I just pick against them every time, I'll get one right eventually.

Minnesota (+14.5) vs Indiana (-14.5): I gotta believe Minnesota can hang within 15, even if Indiana is at home.

LAL (-1) vs Atlanta (+1): I never thought I'd say it, but Dwight Howard is actually starting to play like an NBA player.  Last night against his former team, he had 39 and 16.  Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, though.  He is still an attention whore and I strongly dislike him.

Toronto (+5) vs Boston (-5): Boston got mopped last night by none other than the perennial powerhouse Charlotte Bobcats.  In all seriousness, though, Boston should rebound tonight.

Utah (+12.5) vs OKC (-12.5): The Jazz are a huge wild card team right now.  I really don't know where to go this one.

Phoenix (+11.5) vs Houston (-11.5): Just a gut feeling.

Chicago (-3) vs Sacramento (+3): Cousins might be out for this one, so I'll go Chicago with the lock of the night.

Detroit (+12) vs Golden State (-12): Golden State should win this one, but I think Detroit stays within 12.

NYK (+8.5) vs Denver (-8.5): Denver is turning into a scary good team.  The West is so loaded.

Memphis (+6) vs LAC (-6): Matchup of the night here.

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 43

Well yesterday went well.  Not.  1-4 last night (how does that even happen?) for a cummulative record of 172-141 (0.546), 22-18 on locks.

Boston (-10.5) vs Charlotte (+10.5): Charlotte is oh so bad.

Washington (-1) vs Cleveland (+1):  The injury-prone Kyrie Irving is out 4-6 weeks with a shoulder sprain.  This is not a bad things for the Cavs: save the franchise star and tank the rest of the year in hopes of getting a good draft pick.

LAL (-8) vs Orlando (+8):  Dwight Howard returns to Orlando.  Sweet.

Atlanta (+10) vs Miami (-10):  Now that Miami is done making statements, they'll probably just let the Hawks hang with them all game and then decide to turn things up with 3 minutes left in the game.

New Orleans (+6) vs Brooklyn (-6): Fun stat of the day: Gerald Wallace is really killing the PER this year, amassing a rating of 12.02.  Heck, that's only like 2 points less than Kyle Korver.  Big shout to Gerald Wallace.

Dallas (+1.5) vs Milwaukee (-1.5): Coin flip game.

San Antonio (-8.5) vs Minnesota (+8.5): The Spurs really put on a show last night, mopping the Thunder in a game I thought OKC should have owned.  I mean c'mon.  Tony Parker was out.. Russ should have had a field day.

Memphis (-1.5) vs Portland (+1.5): As bad as I want to take Portland here, my gut won't let me.

Lock of the day goes to San Antonio (-8.5).

Monday, March 11, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 42

Mannnn I really thought yesterday was a 9-0 or 8-1 kind of day... I was feelin my picks.  Turned out to be a 4-5 kind of day.  Sweet.    Anyway, 171-137 (.555) for the year, 22-17 on locks.

I'm just gonna get this out of the way early - Brandon Knight gets the picture of the day.  I don't care that Deandre Jordan absolutely humiliated him last night with this barbarous dunk.  It took some serious balls to even try going up with Jordan for that ball.  Seriously.  Big shout to Brandon Knight.

Brooklyn (-6) vs Philadelphia (+6): Sometimes it still blows me away how bad the Sixers are.  Doug Collins lost that locker room weeks ago, and it has gone straight downhill.

OKC (+2.5) vs San Antonio (-2.5):  I really like this one.  I know OKC played yesterday, but I will take them all day if they are getting 2.5 points.

Detroit (+9.5) vs Utah (-9.5): This one is really a toss up.  I have no idea what to think of this Jazz team.

Denver (-9) vs Phoenix (+9): The Sun have likely lost Gortat for the year, but it's not like the Suns were going anywhere.  I say just tank the year and start developing Kendall Marshall.

NYK (+3) vs Golden State (-3): I think the Warriors finish the year with 15 of their last 20 at home or something crazy like that.  Either way, I still fear the worst for this squad.  They just look really mediocre.

Lock of they day goes to Brooklyn (-6).

Sunday, March 10, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 41

3-4 last night for an overall of 167-132 (.559), 22-16 on locks.  The Golden State lock was just an atrocious pick.  My b my b.

Picture of the day goes to Rasheed Wallace, cause he might have to give up his roster spot to find a replacement for STAT.  Let's hope that doesn't happen.  Big shout to Rasheed Wallace.

Boston (+10.5) vs OKC (-10.5): Boston is better than I thought they'd be, but OKC is scary good at home.  They blow people out of the water.

Chicago (+5.5) vs LAL (-5.5): The Lakers have yet another chance to get a game on the Jazz/Rockets, as both squads lost again last night.  If they do get the win, I feel like Kobe is gonna need to have some more late game heroics.

Cleveland (+5.5) vs Toronto (-5.5): Not much to say here.  I just think Toronto is better than Cleveland.

Indiana (+7) vs Miami (-7):  Statement game for the Heat, but the Pacers are the closest thing there is to Miami's kryptonite.  I really like Indiana here.

Philadelphia (-2) vs Orlando (+2): Ewwwwww.

Dallas () vs Minnesota (): Ewwwww again.

Portland (-2.5) vs New Orleans (+2.5):

Milwaukee (+1) vs Sacramento (-1):  Woah dere.  Am I missing something on this one?

Detroit (+14) vs LAC (-14): If you haven't seen the Staples Center go from Lakers to Clips, it's quite the feat.  For real.

Lock of the night goes to Indiana (+7).

Saturday, March 9, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 40

8-4 last night to go 164-128 (0.562) on the year, 22-15 on locks.

Kobe went in again last night, and the Lakers gained another game on the Jazz.  Looks like I might be eating my Laker-less playoff prediction.  Oh well.

Brooklyn (+3) vs Atlanta (-3):  Tough loss for Atlanta last night.  I think they rebound here against the Nets.  Also, I don't care one bit that Deron Williams set the record for most 3's in a half last night.  Dude is not getting picture of the day.

Utah (+6.5) vs NYK (-6.5): Like I said earlier, Utah is really reeling.  Even worse news.. they are on the road tonight.  Again.

New Orleans (+7.5) vs Memphis (-7.5): Is Marc Gasol the best center in the league right now?  I'd say so.  That is, of course, if you're not counting Joel Anthony.

Charlotte (+11) vs Washington (-11): There are some unwritten rules in the NBA.  I'm sure the "Wizards-should-never-be-favored-by-11" rule is in there somewhere.

Houston (-6.5) vs Phoenix (+6.5): Picture of the day goes to Chandler Parsons, cause he was huge in beating the Warriors last night.  26 points, and he was constantly hitting timely shots.  Big shout to Chandler Parsons.

Minnesota (+15.5) vs Denver (-15.5): I can't ever pick against Denver at home.

Milwaukee (+3) vs Golden State (-3): Golden State needs a win.

Lock of the night goes to Golden State (-3).

Friday, March 8, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 39

Somehow I went 2-0 last night to put my year-long record at 156-124 (0.557), 21-15 on locks.

Kenyon Martin gets the picture of the day, because he had a hard (but clean) foul on KD last night, and I enjoyed watching it.  Big shout to Kenyon Martin.

Indiana (-9) vs Orlando (+9): Indiana blew the game against Boston the other night, and I expect them to come out hungry.

OKC (-14) vs Charlotte (+14): These Charlotte lines never disappoint.

Washington (+6) vs Brooklyn (-6)

Memphis (-6) vs Cleveland (+6): Playing the Cavs is no gimme, but I like Memphis here.

Dallas (-3.5) vs Detroit (+3.5): Sometimes I watch Dallas and can't figure out why they don't win more.  Then I remember that they play in the West.

Atlanta (+4) vs Boston (-4): Boston just continues to surprise me.

Utah (+4) vs Chicago (-4): Utah is painfully bad on the road, and Chicago needs a win.

Philadelphia (+13.5) vs Miami (-13.5): I hope Philly stays close cause I wanna see LeBron with the ball in crunch time again.

Portland (+11.5) vs San Antonio (-11.5):  The Spurs are ridiculous.  Not many teams can lose their best player and still be favored by double digits.

Phoenix (+7) vs Sacramento (-7)

Toronto (+7.5) vs LAL (-7.5):  The Lakers haven't a great opportuniy to pick up another game on Utah here.

Houston (+2) vs Golden State (-2):  Game of the night right ccchhhere.  I don't think these two teams like each other very much.

Lock of the night goes to Indiana (-9).

Thursday, March 7, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 38

9-5 last night for a cummulative record of 154-124 (0.554), 20-15 on locks.

Last night was also a great night for all LeBron fans out there, as Miami FINALLY caught a wave of common sense and decided to let the greatest player in the world have the ball in the last seconds.  I can't even begin to tell you how heated I get when Spo draws up a play for Wade (every single time) when the game is coming down to the wire.  Give it to the King, good things happen.

Only two games on tonight, and to be honest I don't feel good about either one.

OKC (-7) vs NYK (+7):  There has been recent talk that Melo faked his injury because he just needed a break for his sore knees but Woodson was too "stubborn" pull him.  If this is the case, Woodson needs to get his act together.  The Knicks were playing the Cavs and the Pistons; no need to risk injury to your star, especially if he is asking out.

LAC (+4.5) vs Denver (-4.5):  I guess I'm going with Denver just because they are home.  Also, this is kinda cool.

Lock of the night goes to Denver (-4.5).  Also, the picture of the day goes to Jamal Crawford because of that sick pass to Blake last night and his ill crossover.  Big shout to Jamal Crawford.

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 37

2-1 last night to go 145-119 (0.549) for the year, 19-15 on locks.  I'm kicking myself for not going with Denver for the lock.. thought it was a trap game.

Also, Serge Ibaka is officially one of my least favorite players in the game.  What a punk.  He should have been suspended for punching Blake Griffin, but the Thunder played on TNT last night and you know Stern wanted those ratings to be high.  Whateva.

Boston (+9) vs Indiana (-9):  Danny Granger has really been a nonfactor since returning from his knee injury.  This Indiana team keeps winning, though

Brooklyn (-9) vs Charlotte (+9): Brooklyn is looking to get the 4 seed in the East, which just blows my mind.

Utah (-1) vs Cleveland (+1):  Utah is atrocious on the road, but they need a win if they don't want the Lakers to catch them.

NYK (-3) vs Detroit (+3): Melo's injury doesn't scare me.  In fact, they actually move the ball as a team better when he's not there to bail them out.

Philadelphia (+8.5) vs Atlanta (-8.5): Philly is oh so bad.

Orlando (+16) vs Miami (-16): Like I've said before - Miami plays down to their opponent.

Washington (-2) vs Minnesota (+2): I really don't know where to go here.  Coin flip.

Portland (+6.5) vs Memphis (-6.5):  Portland is not a very good road team.

LAL (-1.5) vs New Orleans (+1.5):  Kobe got hurt last night, but this Lakers team really needs to string together a few wins.  Utah is in reach.

Houston (+2) vs Dallas (-2):  If I could describe the Mavericks in one word, it would be confused.

Toronto (-1.5) vs Phoenix (+1.5):

Chicago (+8) vs San Antonio (-8): No Tony Parker, no problem.

Milwaukee (+9.5) vs LAC (-9.5):  Larry Sanders gets picture of the day, because he is a filthy interior defender.  Big shout to Larry Sanders.

Sacramento (+11) vs Golden State (-11): Golden State is hit or miss.  I'm calling a miss tonight.

Lock of the night goes to LAL (-1.5).

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 36

Thanks to a crippling stomach virus, I have been MIA from the NBA world for the past couple of days.  It has not been fun.

Last time I did picks, I went 3-1 to go 143-118 (.548) on the year, 19-14 on locks.

Boston (-2.5) vs Philadelphia (+2.5):  I saw in a report somewhere that Andrew Bynum may get season ending surgery on his knee.  Whether or not he gets this surgery, dude will not play in a game all year.  Don't act like you didn't see this coming.

LAL (+8.5) vs OKC (-8.5):  I usually stay away from giving the picture of the day to a star.  I mean c'mon.  Everyone knows who they are already... no need to give them more attention.  But Kobe Bryant MUST have the picture of the day today.  The Lakers are finally back to .500, and that dunk that he had over Josh Smith was absolutely incredible.  Big shout to Kobe Bryant.

Denver (-5) vs Sacramento (+5):  This one seems too easy.  Prolly gonna regret saying that.

Lock of the night goes to LAL (+8.5).

Saturday, March 2, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 35

6-6 last night to go 140-117 (.545) for the year, 19-13 on locks.

Golden State (-1) vs Philadelphia (+1):  Philadelphia is really reeling, and there has been rumors that oug Collins won't be returning next year.  Lock of the night goes to Golden State here.

Brooklyn (+5) vs Chicago (-5): I wonder where the Bulls would be this year without Nate Robinson.  Dude has been a stud.

Toronto (+5.5) vs Milwaukee (-5.5): Funs stat of the day: Monta Ellis isn't even shooting 24% from 3 point land.  Wow.

Minnesota (+9) vs Portland (-9):  Picture of the day goes to Wesley Matthews, just because I particularly enjoy his step back 3 that he always shoots.  Big shout to Wesley Matthews.

Friday, March 1, 2013

ATS Picks: Day 34

1-2 last night to go 134-111 (.547) for the year (18-13 on locks).  Don't have a whole lot of time today, so it's gonna be brief.  Also, Mike Scott gets the picture of the day.  He doesn't play much for the Hawks, but he went to UVA and last night we beat Duke.  I was there.  It was awesome.  Big shout to Mike Scott.

NYK (-2.5) vs Washington (+2.5):  Tryna go to this one.  2 hours from Cville ain't too bad.

Indiana (-1.5) vs Toronto (+1.5):  Indiana will rebound from last night's loss.

Houston (-8.5) vs Orlando (+8.5):

LAC (-7) vs Cleveland (+7)

Golden State (+4) vs Boston (-4):  Klay Thompson's father took away his allowance for getting in a fight.  lolz.

Memphis (+8) vs Miami (-8):  Memphis is gonna give the Heat trouble.  Just watch.

Dallas (+3.5) vs Brooklyn (-3.5)

Detroit (+3.5) vs New Orleans (-3.5)

Sacramento (+14.5) vs San Antonio (-14.5):  The Spurs aren't gonna falter to a scrub team twice in a week.

Atlanta (-4) vs Phoenix (+4):  Just cause Mike Scott got the picture today.

Charlotte (+9.5) vs Utah (-9.5)

 OKC (-1) vs Denver (+1)

Lock of the night goes to Memphis (+8).
